SCIENTIFIC ABSTRACTSLifestyle changes lead to obesity in Asia
A study by the Diabetes Foundation and by doctors from the Rachandran Diabetes Hospital establishes the relationship between the change of rural to urban lifestyle, access to public transportation, improving socioeconomic conditions, preference for spending free time in front of the television and digital games and increased consumption of animal products, sugar and fatty foods and increasing obesity.
The only solution proposed is to prevent obesity through community-based interventions aimed at promoting healthy eating and physical activity.
